What does it do?
The DolorClast High Power Laser is a Class IV Laser that works in two ways:
- Pain relief – stops receptors at the site of injury which are responsible for the transmission of pain to the brain.
- Reduction in acute inflammation and swelling – decreases the amount of a fatty acid that is responsible for starting inflammation. It mimics the effects of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) without the adverse effects of NSAIDs.
How does it work?
It is 15 times more powerful than conventional low-level lasers with peak power at 300 watts, low level lasers are 20 watts. The power of the DolorClast High Power Laser lies in its specially selected laser wavelength of 905 nanometres (nm). This wavelength produces a desirable impact on the cellular metabolism within treated tissue, without being absorbed by blood or water. The laser does not heat the effected tissue, it produces exactly the desired effect of quick pain relief and absorption of oedema.
How quick does the laser work?
A powerful analgesic (pain killer) effect can be felt 5 minutes after the treatment session has ended and is likely to last up to 72 hours. Acute inflammation also decreases after 60 minutes which leads to the quick absorption of swelling and faster healing of the damaged tissue.
